The Flagman’s Mission Continues is seeking assistance from Farina and Brownstown IL and neighboring communities to honor the memory and family of SGT Bradley Clinton Schwarm, U.S. Army.
The mission essentials:

Meet at First Christian Church in Brownstown at 516 W. Cumberland Road

Flag setup on Sunday October 13th at 3:00 PM Central Time

Flag takedown on Tuesday October 15th at 3:00 PM Central Time

Up to 600 3×5 foot flags on 10-foot poles will be flown and we will need about 2 hours possibly 3 hours of time depending on the number of volunteers.

At least 4 clean and empty pickup trucks (no trailers please) to take the flags from the flag van to the setup locations would be appreciated.

Please bring work gloves, wear comfortable walking shoes and bring your own beverages to hydrate! Anyone able to walk and carry 5 pounds can help. Rain or sunshine. Youth groups and children (prefer 11 years or older) are encouraged to help.

Please show up for either day or both days if you can! We need just as many volunteers to take down the flags as we need to set them up.

Jeff Hastings, President of “The Flagman’s Mission Continues”, will provide instruction on how to use the post drivers and how to unfurl the flags for display.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday October 15th at First Christian Church of Brownstown with Rev. Don Thomas officiating. Burial with full military honors by the United States Army will follow in Old Loogootee Cemetery in rural Farina. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday October 14th and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at First Christian Church.
To be in the funeral procession, meet at First Christian Church at 11:00 AM. We encourage everyone from the communities to line the procession route where the flags are set up to honor this American hero.
