Illinois State Police Troop 9 will be conducting multiple checks in Fayette County during October.
Troop 9 Commander, Captain Nathan Douglas, announced that roadside safety checks will be conducted in Fayette County during October. Officers working the detail will be watchful for motorists who show signs of impaired driving, operating vehicles in an unsafe manner, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and transporting alcoholic beverages, as well as improper seatbelt and child restraint usage, distracted driving, and other violations.
Also, the State Police will be conducting Nighttime Enforcement Patrols in multiple counties during October, including Fayette County. The Nighttime Patrols allow the State Police to focus on preventing, detecting, and taking enforcement action in response to impaired driving and occupant restraint violations especially between the hours of 9 pm and 6 am.
The State Police will also be conducting Occupant Restraint Enforcement Patrols in multiple counties–including Fayette County–during October. State Police reminds that Illinois law requires all vehicle passengers–front and back–to be buckled up.
