An accident on Interstate 70 Thursday lead to the westbound lanes being closed for a period of time.
Illinois State Police reports says the accident occurred on Interstate 70 westbound at milespost 77 (1 mile east of the St. Elmo exit) at 11:46 am.
State Police reports say ISP Troop 9 responded to a 3 vehicle injury crash involving a white Ford Truck, a black Ford and a red Nissan sedan. State Police say there were non-life threatening injuries reported. All westbound traffic lanes were closed for the landing of a medical helicopter, with traffic diverted to the Altamont exit. At 1:03 pm on Thursday afternoon, all lanes were re-opened. State Police says that no futher information is available at this time.
