Our forecast for today calls for showers and thunderstorms–mainly before 1 pm–with a high today 0f 84. Then, showers and storms are likely for tonight with a low of 70.
The National Weather Service in St. Louis says severe thunderstorms are possible across the entire area this afternoon and evening. The most likely areas for development are across southern Missouri into southern Illinois late this afternoon and early evening, and across northern Missouri and western Illinois during the evening. 60-70 mph winds and large hail are the primary threats. A weak tornado or two are also possible.
