
Floyd D. Adams Sr., 64, of Brownstown, IL, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Fayette County Hospital.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the First Christian Church, Brownstown with Duane Willms and Pastor Nathan Brands officiating. Interment will follow in Griffith Cemetery, Brownstown. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 AM, Saturday, at the church. Floyd Daniel Adams Sr. was born on September 25, 1959 in Dexter, MO, the son of James Brownlow Adams and Betty Lou (Parrish). He married the love of his life, Dona Marie Armand on April 12, 1980. Together they celebrated 44 years of marriage and raised two sons.
Floyd was an equipment operator for nearly 40 years. He was currently employed by AltairStrickland, an industrial engineering company specializing in critical projects in the refining, petrochemical, chemical, and power industries. When he wasn’t working, Floyd had an avid love for cooking and anything outdoors; especially, deer hunting, fishing, and riding his side-by-side. However, he loved nothing more than spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren.
He will forever be remembered by his wife, Dona Adams of Brownstown; son Floyd D. Adams Jr. “Nin” and wife Christy of Lettsworth, LA; son, Eric D. Adams and wife Tresnee of Brownstown; brother, James D. Adams and wife Anne of Baton Rouge, LA; brother, Scott D. Adams and wife Lisa of Batchelor, LA; grandchildren, Abby and Kade Adams, Kyndal, Jori, and Jessa Adams; bonus grandchildren, Taylor, Alivia, and Macy “Squish” Claycomb, Brynlee, Dawson, and Cade Willms; extended family & numerous friends.
Preceded in death by his father, James Adams; mother, Betty Lou Jordan; and step-father, William “Bill” Jordan.
