Brownstown-St. Elmo girls basketball wrapped up play in the Southern Illinois Basketball Tournament at Effingham on Wednesday, going 1-2 on day three. BSE started strong as they had all week, getting a win in their early matchup, beating Salem 39-28. The Bombers faced another big school test for the second game in a row, falling to Civic Memorial 55-28. Sitting at 1-1 for the day, BSE had just NTC rival St. Anthony left to play and after a hard fought, close battle, the Bombers fell by three, 44-41, to close out tournament play. Overall through nine games in three days, BSE went 5-4 on the week.
