Tracy L. Bowen, 53, of Vandalia, IL, passed away at 4:40 AM, Monday, June 10, 2024 at SBL Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM, Monday, June 17, 2024 at Mother of Dolors Catholic Church, Vandalia, with Rev. Fr. Seth Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00-11:30 AM, Monday, at the church. Tracy Lynn Bowen was born on January 24, 1971 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Burl “Dean” and Cheryl Norene (Gordon) Bowen. Throughout the years Tracy assisted her father, Dean at Bowen Cabinet and Appliance as well as her sister, Sandy at the real estate office. When in high school, Tracy also worked at Evans Public Library in Vandalia.
Tracy was a free spirit who enjoyed every moment of every day. She loved going to the fire hall, writing letters to her loved ones, listening to music, dancing, watching movies, but most of all, spending time with her family, extended family, and friends.
She is survived by her father, Dean Bowen of Vandalia; sister, Sandy Michel of Vandalia; niece, Amy Gaffney with Neil Krutsinger of Vandalia; aunts & uncles, Carole Guetersloh, Barbara Snyder, Sharon (Ron) Thomason, Susan (Steve) Murfin, Ann Bowen, Anne (Marty) Lyons, Leon (Pat) Bowen; beloved caregivers, Devin Summers, Vicky Diveley, Sherrie Wollin, Casey Wilson; extended family and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Cheryl Bowen; brother, Jeffrey Gordon Bowen; maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. John Gordon; paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Glenn Bowen; aunts & uncles, Jim (Mary) Bowen, Robert Bowen, Gerald Ray Bowen, Jim Guetersloh, and Ron Snyder.
