State Senator Jason Plummer is unhappy with legislation he says restricts Freedom of Speech.
The bill that was approved by the Illinois Senate this past weekend was Senate Bill 3649, which bans employers from holding mandatory participation meetings for employees that may include any public policy, political, or religious content. Senator Plummer says the bill is just wrong on a number of levels.
Senator Plummer adds that in his opinion the legislation is clearly unconstitutional, which he says means it follows in a long line of bills passed by the General Assembly that won’t stand up to judicial scrutiny in court.
