With the final scheduled session day on Friday, Illinois taxpayers still don’t know how the state plans to spend their money.
Earlier in the day Thursday at an unrelated event in Pontoon Beach, Governor J.B. Pritzker gave little details about the budget. But he was asked about his proposed tax increase on sports betting companies.
Later in the day, as the House was giving final approval for what could be the state’s official mushroom, House Minority Leader Tony McCombie asked State Representative Michelle Mussman what was next to her.
Legislators return to session today. That’s the scheduled adjournment day, but they also have the rest of the month scheduled for contingency days.
