The IHSA softball postseason gets underway today across the state and three I70Sports area teams begin action today with three more starting postseason play tomorrow and the final one starting postseason play on Wednesday.
In Class 2A, Vandalia will be a #10 seed and despite hosting their own 2A Regional, the Lady Vandals will have to go on the road for quarterfinal action, playing at #9 seed Litchfield at 4:00pm on Monday. The winner will take on #2 seed Carlyle in the semifinals at Vandalia on Tuesday at 4:30pm.
In Class 1A, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City is a #8 seed and will get to host their quarterfinal game of the Casey-Westfield Regional. The Bobcats will host a familiar opponent in #10 seed Neoga today at 4:30pm. The winner will move on to take on top-seeded Casey-Westfield on Tuesday at 4:30pm in Casey for the first semifinal game.
In the South Central 1A Regional, St. Elmo-Brownstown is a #9 seed an will go on the road for the quarterfinal round, traveling to Webber today for a 4:30pm matchup. The winner of today’s game will advance to the first semifinal game on Tuesday to take on top-seeded South Central at 3:30pm in Kinmundy.
