Illinois Senate Passes Educational Plan For Young Prisoners

Springfield, IL) — The Illinois Senate is advancing a plan that would provide more educational opportunities for younger people serving time in the Department of Corrections. The Senate approved a measure that would require the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice to establish an emerging adult program for prisoners ages 18 to 21. The bill now moves to the House.

What are you thoughts on sales tax increase to help pay for a new Courthouse and Jail?

On the April 1st Consolidated Election ballot, Fayette County Voters will be asked whether or not they are in favor of a 1% sales tax increase for the next 35 years to help pay for a new Fayette County Courthouse and Jail.
