The Vandals battled but never could overcome their early deficit, as they fall at home to Southwestern 4 to 2 on Friday afternoon.
Southwestern scored 4 runs in the top of the 1st inning and it turns out that would be enough to get the victory and move their season record to 12-4. For the Vandals, they struggled offensively on the day with just 5 total hits and going for a long string in the middle of the game without a baserunner. The Vandals are now 7-7 on the season. The Vandals are off this weekend and will return to action on Tuesday at North Mac.
