The Vandals fell behind early and could not get much offense going as they were shut out by Greenville, 10-0, on Thursday. Greenville was able to put three runs on the board in the first inning and another four in the second while holding the Vandals scoreless for a 7-0 lead. That lead would be extended in the third to 8-0. Vandalia held the Comets scoreless in the fourth, but the Comets would again score in the fifth for a 9-0 lead over the Vandals. After a 1-2-3 top of the sixth for Vandalia, a final Greenville run to make it 10-0 ended the game, as the Comets handed the Vandals their second loss of the season.
