Among the five liquor licenses requested at last week’s Vandalia City Council meeting was a license for a restaurant.
Don Schomaker of Germantown came before the Vandalia City Council to request both a Class E Liquor License and Gaming License as he looks to open restaurants in Vandalia. Schomaker currently operates two restaurants in Breese and would like to bring a similar concept to Vandalia.
And, Schomaker said they are definitely looking to bring restaurants, not bars, to town.
As was stated, Schomaker is looking to locate in the locations of the former Huddle House and Embers on Mattes Avenue. Last week was the first reading of his license requests. So, the council could make the decision at their meeting on Monday.
