(Springfield, IL) — An Illinois lawmaker is pushing for a ban on a group of potentially harmful ingredients commonly found in food and drinks. A measure introduced by state Senator Willie Preston would ban brominated vegetable oil, potassium bromate, propylparaben and red dye number three. The Chicago Democrat is also planning to amend the bill to include a ban on titanium dioxide. California has already passed its own version of a food additives ban.
