Our active weather pattern will continue.
Today we are looking at sunny skies and cold with a high of 15. We’ll see winds out of the northwest gusting about 20 miles per hour which will lead to wind chill values as low as -15 for today. Tonight we will see clear skies and very cold with a low of -2 and wind chill values as low as -10 for tonight. Sunday will be warmer with mostly sunny skies and a high of 26.
Meanwhile, Monday morning could be a rough one. We are looking at rain or freezing rain likely with a high of 35. with ice accumulation of less than 0.1 of an inch possible, but it could lead to some very slick roadways. Monday night rain or freezing rain will be over the area with a high of 32. After Monday, we will see temperatures warm up to where we will just see rain for most of the rest of the week.
As of this time, the National Weather Service in St. Louis says that the freezing rain would likely hit our area between 9 am and noon on Monday and would end when temperatures get above freezing. The NWS says freezing rain will degrade travel conditions for at least the Monday morning commute, though infrastructure impacts are not expected. Impacts may linger later into the day if temperatures stay below freezing.
