The Blood Drive held this past week honoring Colin Ledbetter and law enforcement injured in the line of duty brought out big donor numbers.
Vandalia’s Colin Ledbetter was badly injured when he was shot while in the line of duty as a St. Louis Police Officer. And, he needed lots of blood products in the surgeries that ultimately led to his recovery. Ledbetter teamed with the Vandalia Rotary Club to help with bringing out folks for the blood drive this past week at the Vandalia Moose Lodge. There were a total of 132 units donated at the blood drive this past week. That is about 50 to 60 units more than usual.
The Vandalia Rotary Club and American Red Cross would like to thank all those involved in the blood drive and the Vandalia Moose Lodge for supplying the venue. They also thanked the volunteers, Hosick Motors for their donation of giveaway t-shirts and Colin Ledbetter and his family for their efforts.
The next Rotary Club blood drive will be held on Tuesday, March 12th.
