There will be a Primary Race for the area’s State Representative seat.
On Monday, Republican Matt Hall filed to run in the March 19th Primary for 110th District State Representative. That will pit Hall in a Republican Primary race with incumbent Blaine Wilhour.
In a release, Hall says he is a 27 year veteran of the Illinois Department of Corrections. Hall is also the Fayette County Republican Chairman, served on the Vandalia School Board from 2007 to 2020 and on the Fayette County Board from 2020 to 2022. Hall also adds that in less than 15 days, he collected over 1,500 petition signatures–which is more than triple the number required to get on the ballot. And, that he also collected signatures from all 8 counties in the district.
Both Hall and Wilhour are lifelong Fayette County residents.
