(Springfield, IL) — A Springfield man is headed to federal prison for charges related to a COVID relief fund scam. Thirty-three-year-old Phillip Lovelace Junior scammed more than 40-thousand dollars in relief funds and unemployment from the state of Arizona. Lovelace was found out when it was determined he had no qualifying business and wasn’t eligible for unemployment. Lovelace was sentenced to 20 months in prison after pleading guilty to wire fraud back in June.
