Clearing up rumors about Two Vandalia Businesses

There have been some rumors floating around the community about a couple of Vandalia businesses.

During Monday night’s Vandalia City Council meeting, Mayor Rick Gottman addressed a rumor about Rural King being sold and the Mayor confirming it has not been.

There was also a social media rumor about Ponderosa being sold.  So, on Tuesday Karen Stokes posted on her Facebook page about Ponderosa ownership going forward.  Stokes says that Justin and Jessica Durbin are taking on the leadership role.  Stokes says in her post the transition will take some time to complete until the Durbin’s are fully comfortable to completely take over.  Stokes added in her post that Justin Durbin is a lifelong resident of the community and cares about Vandalia, plans to keep everything the same, including the Ponderosa name and hopes that every single team member will stay on.  Stokes says the Durbin’s will bring fresh energy and ideas to the restaurant.
