South Central volleyball went 3-0 in pool play before dropping a hard fought Championship match to Carlyle 25-27, 23-25 to take 2nd Place at the 29th Annual Vandalia Volleyball Tournament. In pool play, South Central got wins over Vandalia 25-20, 26-24, East Alton-Wood River 19-25, 25-14, 16-14 and over Salem 23-25, 25-12, 15-7 to finish at the top of their pool and earn a spot in the Championship game. The Lady Cougars would battle point for point with the Carlyle Lady Indians, but would come up just short 25-27, 23-25 to finish in second for the tournament. South Central is now 11-6 on the season and will have some big National Trail Conference matches coming up Monday at Windsor/Stew-Stras, Thursday at home against North Clay and Monday, September 25 at home against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.
