City of Vandalia, Vandalia Police Department will look to purchase another new squad car very soon

The Vandalia Police Department will move forward with purchasing another new squad car very quickly.

Just recently, the Vandalia Police Department received delivery of a new 2023 Dodge Charger squad car.  Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman and Vandalia Police Chief Jeff Ray explained to the Vandalia City Council that this Dodge Charger will no longer be available as a squad car after this year.  And, that Ford and Chevy also no longer offer cars, as all either offer SUVs or trucks.  And, the SUVs and trucks are quite a bit more expensive than the cars.  Chief Ray stated GM will have an electric Trail Blazer available next year.  Chief Ray and Mayor Gottman telling the council is it probably a good idea to move forward with getting another new Dodge Charger squad car now.

The Vandalia City Council approved to get the pricing and to move forward on purchasing a new squad car.
