Three I70Sports.com area softball players have earned more accolades following the 2023 season after being named to the Illinois Softball Coaches Association’s (ICA) All-State teams.
For Class 1A, Mulberry Grove sophomore infielder Taylor Stone has been to the ICA 1A Second Team and Mulberry Grove sophomore pitcher Lily Johnson has been named to the ICA 1A Third Team as a pitcher. During the 2023 season, Stone batted .500 with 39 hits, 6 home runs, 34 RBI and in the field, had a .822 fielding percentage. For Johnson, she had a 14-6 record with a 2.09 ERA and 187 strikeouts over her 117.1 innings pitched.
For Class 2A, Vandalia senior pitcher and infielder Gracie Philpot has been named to the ICA 2A Second Team. For the 2023 season, Philpot batted .536 with 45 hits, 6 home runs and 29 RBI. On the mound, she tossed 59 innings with a 4.63 ERA and rounded up 60 strikeouts. In the field, Philpot had a .894 fielding percentage.
