Mulberry Grove, St. Elmo-Brownstown and South Central will all be in action today in regional semifinal softball action.
In the Greenfield Regional, Mulberry Grove will look to continue its late season win streak and make it 11 in a row as they face Bunker Hill in the regional’s second semifinal game at 6:30pm. The two teams faced off a month ago with the Aces pulling out a close 1-0 win. The winner of Wednesday’s matchup will face the winner of the other semifinal game between Hardin Calhoun and Raymond Lincolnwood in the Regional Championship game on Saturday.
In the Altamont Regional, St. Elmo-Brownstown will get their postseason underway as the #9 seed taking on the #2 seed Edwards County in the first semifinal game of the regional at 4:30pm. The winner will advance to the Regional Championship game on Saturday morning against the second semifinal game between Altamont and Clay City.
In the South Central Regional, the host Cougars will start postseason play by facing Webber in the regional’s first semifinal game at 3:30 pm today. Webber was a 19-9 winner over Cisne to advance to the semifinals and South Central was a 10-0 winner over Webber when the two teams met last month. The winner will face either Grayville or Wayne City in the Regional Championship game on Friday.
