City of Vandalia approves TIF funds for Evans Public Library, work on new facility is underway

The Vandalia City Council approved TIF funding for the Evans Public Library’s new facility.

At their meeting last week, the Vandalia City Council approved $211,647 in TIF funds.  Evans Public Library has received a state grant of $3.25 million and also the library raised $1.394 million to help pay for the new facility.  The new building will be 14,182 square feet, which is almost double their current location in downtown Vandalia.  Work is underway for the new library.
