Donald Dean “Duck” Donaldson, 87, of Ramsey, Illinois, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, at Heritage Manor in Pana, IL.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Ramsey Christian Church, Ramsey, IL with Pastor Dick Wamsley officiating. Burial will follow at Myers Cemetery, Herrick, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, an hour and a half prior to the service at the church. Memorials: Myers Cemetery. Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, IL, is in charge of arrangements. Born January 18, 1936, in Ramsey, IL, the son of Arthur Pella & Della Magnolia (Welch) Donaldson. He married Betty Jane Davis on June 2, 1956, in Ramsey, IL. He worked as a correctional officer at the Vandalia Correctional Center; was a member of Ramsey Christian Church; an avid gardener and enjoyed taking care of his lawn; going to coffee with friends; he loved Cubs baseball; and always enjoyed being with his grandchildren.
Survived by: Wife – Betty Donaldson, Ramsey, IL; Daughter – Patti Casey, Ramsey, IL; Son – Jeff Donaldson & Paula, Coppell, TX; Grandchildren – Megan, Portland, OR and Blake, Austin, TX; 6 Great Grandchildren; Sisters – Donna Price, Vandalia, IL and Carol Durbin, Nevada; Brother – Robert “Bob” Donaldson & Norma, Vandalia, IL.
Preceded in death by: Parents; Grand Child – Matthew Casey; Sisters – Barbara Cook, Cora Bushert, and Mary Harpster; Brothers – James, Carl, and John Donaldson.
