The Vandalia Lady Vandals finished off their week at home in their own tournament with a big 56-33 win over Greenville on Saturday afternoon. After trailing 8-2 in the first few minutes of the game, the Lady Vandals would go on a 10-0 run to take a 12-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. Greenville would close it to a one point game, 15-14, in the second quarter, but a 6-3 run would have Vandalia up 21-17 at halftime. The Lady Vandals would use their outside game in the third quarter hitting three 3-pointers as well as going 6-6 at the free throw line to push their lead out to 40-30 heading into the fourth. A 13-3 run to start the fourth quarter would open the game up to 52-33 when the clock would stop at 3:06 and senior Anne Forbes would go to the line for a pair of free throws and knock down both to put the Lady Vandals up 54-33 but also to reach the 1,000 career points mark, becoming the 15th Lady Vandal to do so. Vandalia would add one basket in the final few minutes whole holding Greenville scoreless the rest of the way and get the 56-33 win. The Vandals are now 16-8 on the season and will have just one day off before getting right back into action as they head out on the road to take on Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran.
