The Vandalia Lady Vandals bounced back from their close loss on Saturday to beat Salem 46-38 on Monday as they opened up play in their own Vandalia Mid-Winter Tournament. After playing to an 8-8 by the end of the first quarter, Vandalia would take a four point lead, 19-15, into halftime after outscoring Salem 11-7 in the second quarter. The Lady Vandals would push their lead out another couple points in the third as sophomore Bella Austin heated up and three 3-pointers and another bucket to help Vandalia outscore the Wildcats 13-11 and push their lead out to 32-26. A 14-12 run in the fourth quarter would close out the 46-38 win for the Lady Vandals. Vandalia is now 15-7 on the season and advances into the Championship semifinals where they will face top-seeded Effingham on Wednesday at 6:00pm.
