The Vandals let a late 4th quarter lead get away, but didn’t let the game get away as they came away with a 51 to 48 OT win at Flora on Saturday night.
The Vandals led throughout the game, they were up 20 to 15 at halftime and up 34 to 28 going into the 4th quarter. The Vandals got the led as big as 8 in the 4th quarter, but missed free throws down the stretch opened the door for the Flora Wolves, who hit a late 3 to make it a 3 point game and then Flora Senior Guard Jacob Stanford hit a long 3 pointer at the buzzer to send the game to overtime. But, the Vandals hit more free throws in the extra section and hung on to get the 3 point win. With the victory, the Vandals are now 9-8 on the season and have won 5 of their last 6. The Vandals begin play tomorrow evening at 5:30 in the Benton Invitational Tournament when they take on the Hamilton County Foxes.
