St. Elmo-Brownstown boys basketball got their first National Trail Conference win on Friday night beating Windsor/Stew-Stras, 59-52, at home. The Eagles would pull ahead 19-15 after a strong offensive quarter for each team before defense would take over in the second quarter. The two teams would combine for just 15 points in the second with WSS outscoring SEB 9-6 to pull within one a halftime, 25-24. Coming out in the second half, WSS would again outscore SEB by a small margin, 14-13, in the third quarter as the game would be tied up 38-38 moving into the fourth quarter. SEB would take over and go on a 21-14 run during the quarter to pull out the 59-52 win and hand the Hatchets their first conference loss. SEB is now 9-5 overall and 1-3 in the NTC. They will be back in action on Saturday morning as they will take on Grayville at 10:30am in the first game of the North Clay Shootout.
