The Altamont 7th grade girls basketball team saw their season come to a close on Saturday falling to Liberty, 31-19, in the quarterfinals of the 7-2A State Tournament at Paris High School. The Wildcats fell behind early, 13-0, as they were unable to get themselves on the scoreboard in the first quarter. Altamont would get some things moving in the second though and keep pace with the Liberty scoring in the quarter (10-8) but would remain down 23-8 at halftime. The Wildcats came out in the second half and were able to outscore Liberty, 11-8, over the final two quarters but the first quarter deficit was too much to overcome and the Wildcats would fall 31-19. Altamont 7th grade girls end their season with a record of 20-7.
