The St. Elmo-Brownstown Eagles were able to stave off a third quarter comeback attempt by Father McGivney to get a 56-48 win and claim their third consecutive Championship title of the Mulberry Grove Thanksgiving Tournament. After jumping out to a 20-9 led by the end of the first quarter, the Griffins would hold even scoring wise with the Eagles in the second quarter with SEB keeping an 11-point advantage at halftime, 32-23. Father McGivney would cut into the lead in the third quarter, closing it up to 40-33 heading into the final quarter of play. SEB would hold steady in the quarter, outscoring Father McGivney 16-15 to close out the game and the 56-48 win. SEB shot an impressive 88% from the free throw line in the game going 30-34 from the line. SEB is now 4-0 to start the season. They will have 6 days off now before returning to action on Friday, December 2 at Neoga.
