Robert L. “Bob” Beckett, 93, of Ramsey, IL, passed away at 9:54 AM, Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at his home, surrounded by family.
Per the family’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no services held at this time. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial donations may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com.
Robert Lindy Beckett was born on August 20, 1929 in Ramsey, IL, the son of Montt and Delphia (Good) Beckett. He married Barbara Joann (Engle) on September 11, 1953; with this union, they celebrated 69 years of marriage and had three children.
Mr. Beckett was a United States Army Veteran; serving in the Korean War from March of 1951- March of 1952. He was employed by both, Bayle City Grain and Fillmore Grain, for over 50 years. Bob liked the outdoors; especially mowing and yard work, had an avid love for all animals; adopting anything and everything that came near, and enjoyed eating pie and ice cream.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Beckett of Ramsey; son, Michael Beckett and wife Rosie of Vandalia; daughter, Rhonda Beckett of Ramsey; grandchildren, Lisa and husband Ken Other, Montt Beckett and wife Rachel, Kyle Rogers and wife Heather, Megan and husband Mike Panter; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Cathy Beckett; brother, James “Jim” Beckett; and sisters, Alice Norton, Donna Virden, Eva McKinney, and Betty Lindhorst.
