In a somewhat rare regular season Friday night matchup, St. Elmo-Brownstown dropped a heartbreaker to North Clay 26-24, 23-25, 21-25 in its annual Volley for the Cure match that proved to be a tight, three set back and forth battle. The match also served as the National Trail Conference game between the two teams, ending the Eagles 5-match win streak and dropping SEB to 2-5 in the NTC with one NTC match remaining against Altamont on Tuesday. SEB is now 14-9 overall on the season.
