Vandalia volleyball 2-2-1 on Saturday to finish in 7th place at the Altamont Invitational Tournament. The Vandals would go 1-1-1 in pool play where teams would play two sets during each match to 21 points. Vandalia fell to Cumberland 10-21, 15-21 in the first game of pool play but bounced back with a 21-18, 21-12 win over Cerro Gordo before tying with Nokomis 21-18, 8-21 in their third pool match. This lead to a tie in the pool standings between the Vandals and Nokomis and a coin flip would determine the 2nd and 3rd place pool finisher with Nokomis winning the flip to take the higher place. In the crossover round before the place games, the Vandals would face Heritage and fall 25-15, 20-25, 8-15 to move them into the 7th place game where they would beat Greenville 25-22, 25-17. The Vandals are now 2-4-1 on the season and will be off until Thursday when they play at Hillsboro before beginning play in the Grace Filled Tourney on Friday evening.
