An attorney who was well known around this area for taking on the mask mandate in court is the Republican nominee for Illinois Attorney General. Thomas DeVore has defeated Steve Kim and David Shestokas to win the nomination. Numbers are showing DeVore with better than 44% of the vote, compared to about 35% for Kim and 21% for Shestokas.
DeVore now will take on Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul in the November General Election. Raoul is running for a second term in office.
As for Fayette County, DeVore took 52% of the vote, to 20% for Kim and 8% for Shestokas.
