(Macon Co., IL) — A day care worker in Macon County is facing charges in the death of a seven-week-old baby last month. Authorities say first responders were called out May 17th to an in-home day care in Forsyth, Illinois and found Maren Gallagher unresponsive. The Bement girl died at the hospital the next day. The Sangamon County Coroner says preliminary findings show the baby died from injuries consistent with blunt force injury of the head. On Tuesday, Taylor Burris confessed to shaking the child before her death. She was arrested on the charges of endangering the life and health of a child, aggravated battery to a child resulting in death, and involuntary manslaughter.
