
At their first meeting in May, the Vandalia City Council accepted resignations from 3 individuals from the committee positions they held for the City of Vandalia. And, Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman says it’s happening all over the state. At the meeting, the Council accepted the resignation of Larry Hoffek from the Police Pension Board and the Planning Commission, Michael Koonce from the Police Pension Board and Michael Fulton from the Planning Commission. And, Mayor Gottman says this all stems back to a new state requirement on financial disclosures.
Audio PlayerCurrently there are 3 members on the Police Pension Board, so they can conduct meetings. And, Mayor Gottman says he is actively looking to fill the board positions. And, as Mayor Gottman stated, the Illinois Municipal League will challenge the new requirements for next year.
