
Virginia A. Bolyard, 97, of Shobonier, Illinois, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021, at her home in Shobonier, IL.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Harry Kirk officiating. Burial will follow at Bolyard Cemetery, rural Ramsey, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 23, 2021, 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials: Bolyard Cemetery, rural Ramsey, IL and/or Residential Hospice. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, is in charge of arrangements. She was born July 22, 1924, in Wills County, IL, the daughter of Carl Waller & Virginia Harrison (Boyer) Pritchett. Married John Leroy Bolyard Sr. on October 6, 1943, St. Louis, Mo., he passed away November 8, 1984. She was a retired CNA-Fayette Co. Hosp., and former Cook and housekeeper at Robbins Restaurant; member of First Pentecostal Church, Vandalia, IL. Virginia enjoyed canning, puzzle books, stitching and spending time with her family.
She is survived by: Sons – James “Jim” Bolyard, Kansas City, KS, Carl Bolyard and Pat, Ramsey, IL, Bobby Bolyard, Decatur, IL, and Steve Bolyard and Terry, Ramsey, IL; Daughters – Ann Haston, Effingham, IL, Pat Cunningham and Bert, Beecher City, IL, Karen Rhoades and Robert Jr., Ramsey, IL, Diane Wollin and Earl, Shobonier, IL, Mary Shellanbarger and Margaret Hedgpeth and Jim, all of Vandalia, IL; Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: Her Parents; Husband; Son- Johnny Leroy Jr.; Daughter – Virginia Elam; Brothers – Hershel and Carl Pritchett; Granddaughter – Chris Meyers; 4 Great Grandchildren; Son-in-law – Terry Shellanbarger; and Daughter-in-law – Chris Bolyard.
