(Springfield, IL) — Illinois Democrats say they’d like to see changes to the state’s Healthcare Right of Conscience Act. The changes may come this week during the fall veto session. Many in the state are citing the act as a reason to excuse themselves from Governor JB Pritzker’s vaccine mandate for school, daycare, and state workers. An amendment was filed yesterday to define the law in clearer terms. The Act currently prevents employers from taking action against employees who refuse to take certain actions because of their religious or conscientious beliefs.
