Audio PlayerMayor Gottman and City Administrator LaTisha Paslay both stated the City Council has approved any cannabis ordinances and would approve the businesses as under a special use permit. Paslay added she believed some that were interested in opening some type of cannabis business in Vandalia were still awaiting state approval to do so. Mayor Gottman did point out the City of Vandalia made $5755 in cannabis use tax last year and is at $4182 already this fiscal year and that would only be off of the sales of products such as the CBD oils.
