(Springfield, IL) — County health departments in Illinois are reporting an increase in counterfeit COVID-19 vaccination cars. Macoupin County Public Health Department Director Kent Tarro says he’s received three anonymous calls reporting fake vaccination sites. The spike comes as more businesses and events are requiring proof of vaccination to enter. The Chicago FBI branch is warning people that the practice not only endangers public health, but that it is illegal to create a fake government seal.
