Shirley R. Cole, 85, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Monday, July 19, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, IL with Rev. Brent Madding officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery, Bingham, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 22, 2021, 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials: Donors Choice and/or Miller Funeral Home. Born November 28, 1935, in Ramsey, IL, the daughter of Ray & Sara “Tilly” Matilda (Hopkins) Lambert. Married Russell “Junior” Cole Jr. on May 5, 1952 in Oconee, IL, he passed away on March 29, 2006. She was a former Receiving Clerk at Orgill, Vandalia, IL, Homemaker and House Keeper; and affiliated with the Bingham and Bayle City Baptist Church, both of Bingham, IL.
Survived by: Daughter – Karen Mitchell, Ramsey, IL; Grandchildren – Brian Carter & Jennifer and Jeff Carter & Becky, all of Ramsey, IL; Great Grandchildren – Brittney White & Ryan, Augsburg, IL, Katelyn Fisher, Ramsey, IL and Brandon Carter & Becky, Bingham, IL; Great Great Grandchildren – Miyah and Mason Smith, McKenzie, Zane and Elayna White and 1 on the way.
Preceded in death by: Parents; Husband; Brothers- Mike Forbes and Bob Hopkins; and Sisters – Norma Berner and Linda Hensley.
