Governor J.B. Pritzker says the state is acting aggressively to combat the first signs of a possible COVID-19 resurgence. On Friday, more than 3,000 new cases were reported–the highest daily total since early February. Governor Pritzker says with that in mind, they are expanding vaccine eligibility where possible.
67 percent of Seniors 65 and older in Illinois have been vaccinated. That’s close to the 70 percent required to move to the new “Bridge” phase but the Governor says they will also be looking at the recent uptick in COVID-19 hospital admissions.
