The Illinois State Police have arrested the Chief of Police of Bridgeport, Illinois on Domestic Battery and other charges.
Illinois State Police reports say that at 10:22 pm on Saturday night, Illinois State Police District 12 responded to the 700 block of Adams Street in Bridgeport for a domestic disturbance. Once on scene, an investigation led by ISP Troopers led to the arrest of 46 year old Scott M. Murray of Bridgeport. Murray was charged with Domestic Battery and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm. He was transported to the Lawrence County Jail where we posted bond.
Illinois State Police report says the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Sumner and Bridgeport Police Departments all assisted ISP District 12 in the investigation. They add the case has been turned over to the Lawrence County State’s Attorney’s Office with no further information to be released by the Illinois State Police.
