
Emi Jean Jackson, age 99 of Mulberry Grove, Illinois, passed away Friday night, January 8, 2021 at Greenville Nursing and Rehab.
Private graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 13, at Mulberry Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mulberry Grove Church of Christ.
Emi Jean Elsie Johnston, the daughter of Raymond and Lula Bell, was born June 4, 1921 in St. Genevieve, Missouri. Emi Jean grew up in Mulberry Grove and graduated from Mulberry Grove High School with the class of 1937. She was a seamstress with her mother in Alliance, Ohio during the war years, then returned to Mulberry Grove.
Emi Jean and William Roscoe Jackson were united in marriage January 26, 1939. They enjoyed 71 years of marriage before his passing on July 24, 2010. Surviving are their 2 children: Tom Jackson wife Darlene of Mulberry Grove and Deb Hoffmann and husband Duane of Keyesport, Illinois. Loving grandmother of Bob Jackson and wife Julie of Mulberry Grove, Kevin Jackson and wife Amy of Greenville, Steve Hoffmann and wife Cindy of Carlyle, Jeff Hoffmann and wife Laura of Keyesport and Tim Hoffmann of Carlyle. Great-grandmother of 11.
Emi Jean was the last of her generation, preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings Bernice Bandy, Roberta Haudenshield, Mildred Bissett and Russell Johnston.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Mulberry Grove and enjoyed playing the organ there for many years. Also a member of the Eastern Star, Home Extension, Loyal Sisters and PTA past president.
