A ribbon cutting was held Thursday for a new business in Vandalia that has set up on Veterans Avenue. Kanata Blanket has purchased and moved into the former Purina Building at 1500 Veterans Avenue and has already began operations. Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman says the city is very happy to have Kanata on board and believes the new facility will be a big asset for the city.
Gottman says its good to see Kanata working with another company in Vandalia and their business will help to spotlight Vandalia as the city works to bring more jobs and business to the area.
Along with Mayor Gottman, Vandalia Economic Development Director Amber Daulbaugh and company officials, State Representative Blaine Wilhour and other state officials and several Greater Fayette County Chamber of Commerce members were also on hand for the event.
