This week, the Illinois General Assembly approved expanded vote-by-mail procedures that will be in place for this year only and are specifically for the November General Election. The measure was introduced in response to the coronavirus pandemic, so voters could choose to vote by mail and not in person. During debate on the issue in the Illinois Senate, Senator Jason Plummer told colleagues this could lead to more corruption.
Senator Plummer says the loosening of rules will make vote fraud more likely.
