(Undated) — There is more nasty weather on the way for much of the southcentral part of the country today. Communities in several southern states are still cleaning up after the severe weather outbreak on Easter Sunday. But the weatherman doesn’t have very good news with more severe storms in the forecast. Heavy rain and flooding, strong winds and the possibility of hail are expected later today and early tomorrow mainly from east Texas to Georgia. Although the possibility of tornadoes are also in the forecast, the National Weather Service does not expect there to be as many as the 155 that were spawned during the Easter event.

(Atlanta, GA) — Federal officials say sloppy lab work at the CDC led to contaminated coronavirus tests that set the U.S. back in the early days of the pandemic. A FDA spokesperson said two of the three CDC labs violated their own standards in making the tests before sending them to labs around the country. The inconclusive test results in February prevented officials from knowing how far COVID-19 had spread for about a month. The U.S. now has the highest number of infections and deaths from COVID-19.

(Columbus, OH) — Hundreds of protesters are calling for an end to Ohio’s coronavirus shutdown order. The protesters held a rally outside the state capitol in Columbus yesterday. In a statement, Governor Mike DeWine’s office said the coronavirus stay-at-home and non-essential business closure orders don’t apply to protests. The statement said everyone has a right to protest.

(Los Angeles, CA) — A Broadway star is getting his leg amputated because of the coronavirus. Nick Cordero stars in Rock of Ages, and earned a Tony Award nomination in 2014 for his performance in Bullets Over Broadway. The 41-year-old actor was admitted to the hospital for pneumonia in March, and later tested positive for the coronavirus. The mother of his 10-month-old son broke the news Saturday on Instagram.

(Undated) — Snoop Dogg is out with his own wine. “Snoop Cali Red” has the rapper’s face on the label, and will sell for 12-dollars a bottle starting this summer. Snoop Cali Red is reportedly a blend of three different wines, including Zinfandel and Merlot. Snoop Dogg already holds the record for mixing the world’s largest gin and juice.
