We will see a wintry mix of precipitation today and this evening, before everything changes over to all rain later tonight.
In the latest Situation Report from the National Weather Service in St. Louis it shows the start of the wintry precip for our area at 12 pm today, beginning with snow. Then, the warmer air will come in and change that to sleet and freezing rain. And, the freezing rain will eventually end as temperatures continue to warm up and will then just be rain. And, it’s expected the freezing rain will end about 9 pm tonight. We are looking at just a dusting of snow and .01 to .10 inches of ice for today. As for the rain, we could see 1″ to 1.5″ of rain before it all ends on Saturday morning. The entire area is under both a Winter Weather Advisory and a Flood Watch for today and tonight.
